The Everything Marketplaces community has quickly grown to 1,800+ marketplace founders, teams, & leaders. With the growth of the community, we've been focused on creating stronger connections with founders in the community. This is just one reason why you'll notice that we've started doing meetups in cities like San Francisco more regularly, which also helps bring together and build up the local marketplace startup community.
We recently held a community & marketplace meetup on 5/17 in San Francisco, which was at Headline Ventures. We had a really great turnout with 50+ marketplace founders, teams, & leaders from the community joining. We even had a few of our past group chat guests like David Zamir, Christelle Rohaut, Bunim Laskin, and Andrew Blachman, along with team leads from marketplaces like Thumbtack, Uber, DoorDash, eBay, and more from the community join. It was one of our smaller, more casual meetups, where we all had a chance to meet and have a fun evening chatting about marketplaces. We shared a recap post with 70+ pictures in the community that you can see here. We wanted to share more about it on our blog to help highlight some of our founders from San Francisco.
Here's a few pictures from the meetup:
A big thanks again to Headline Ventures for hosting our meetup in their new Presidio office. Headline Ventures is a venture fund that's invested in notable marketplaces like Cameo, Farfetch, Gopuff, Rappi, Shipt, Airvet, TheRealReal, and more (many in the community). You can also connect with Jett and Matthew from the Headline marketplaces team directly in the community.
You can also connect with founders in cities like Los Angeles, New York City, London, Amsterdam, Berlin, & more in our meetups spaces that we have in the community. You can find some of our upcoming meetups that we have in these cities on our community calendar.
